"Timmerhorst" preserves the musical heritage and festival spirit of Northern Germany. Since 1980 "Timmerhorst", the five-piece-band from Haffkrug on Lübeck Bay on the Baltic Sea, has been touring the world and has played in Milwaukee at the Germanfest, at Chicago’s Lincoln Brauhaus, the Davenport Mississippi Valley Fair, New York’s Plattdüütsch Parkrestaurant, Octoberfest in Hongkong, Octoberfest in Capetown South Africa, in London, Cork in Ireland and Germanywide, Munich, Berlin; Hamburg, Kiel, Frankfurt etc. The list is endless.
Up to now "Timmerhorst" has had more than 50 appearances on German TV promoting traditional Northern German music and music from their serveral CDs.
Each year "Timmerhorst" makes about 50 appearances for community events, music festivals and concerts like Kieler Woche (the greatest sailing competition in the world), Hamburg’s Hafenfest, Hansesail (Rostock), Sailing Week in Travemünde etc., performing for some 100,000 visitors. So in more than 1,000 live performances they have accumulated great experience of working, playing and singing with the audience. Communicating has never been a problem either in German or English as English is their "second" language.
Again and again "Timmerhorst" has been engaged as "music ambassadors" by the government of Germany’s most northerly state, Schleswig-Holstein: As official representatives they have played during the celebrations for 3rd October, the day of German Unity, in Berlin, Dresden, Mainz, Bremen, Hamburg, Magdeburg, Kiel and Schwerin.
